hard drive issues

    i'm in the process of getting my new computer all working. I'm having a problem with it recognizing my 2 additonal hard drives, they arn't seen in the bios even! what could be the problem? both are set on slave.

    Good Morning lightsareout, if they are on the same IDE, one needs to be slave and one master.

    its not going to try and boot off one if i set it to master?

    Not unless you have the boot order set that way.
    It is usually best to place secondary drives on the second IDE and keep your master operating system drive on the first position.

    When you enter BIOS ensure you set the boor order appropriately, that is usually the floppy, then the CDROM, then the first hard drive (with the operating system)
    The other drives will stay in the background unless you factor them in and have an operating system on them.
