On Window NT, I'm running a RAID with multiple hard drives, I believe one drive is failing soon because it is beeping constantly. How can I stop the drive from beeping? Is there any other way besides opening the computer case and pull the power cord.

    Thanks in advance.

For a quick check download download http://www.hdtune.com/ and check the Health and Error Scan on each drive. On the Error Scan run the the quick scan which will only take a minute or so.

If HDTune indicates a problem with either drive, go to the disk manufacturers website and download their diagnostic ultility and run it on either drive HdTune indicated problems. On most manufacturers diagnostics they will give you the option for a quick test or an extended test. Run the extended test.

At the end of test they will probably give you a failure code. If the drive is still under warranty, write down the failure code since you will probably need it if you RMA the drive.
