hard drive lock up

    i have a 2007 dell xps 420 with windows vista i get a blue screen and it says hard drive lock up. i cant even wipe it or do anything, is there a way to fix or should i just trash hard drive and by a new one. the error code is 2000-0146.

    Yes I would think about getting a new one...can you access that one?

    nope not at all which really sucks ive got tons of music and my daughters baby photos and now its all lost. but thanks thats what i thought i would have to do.

    You can try this ....put the hard drive in a freezer bag and put it in the freezer for about 4-5 hours. Take it out and hook it up and see if you can access the Hard drive..but if you can it won't last long so be quick.

    You may think that's nuts but it has worked before and what have you got to loose.
