Hard Drive pounding away

    You've all heard it or seen it...the rapid spinning of your hard drive when you aren't touching your PC. Or the drive light, blinking furiously, taunting you to try and discover it the secrets it must be divulging.

    Why is it doing that? What is it doing? We need to know!

    Depends what version of Linux you run?

    Or is it a Mac?

    I suppose it could even be Windows?
    And that FastFind is active and indexing the system, or that the auto background defrag is happening in XP?

    But, as "clairvoyance mode" is currently turned off here, we just do not know what system you have. The crystal ball is clouded....
