hard drive problem

    my hard drive crashed, so i bought a new hard drive, when i try to install XP on it it doesnt read my floppy setup disk or my cd-rom.. it goes strait to a blank screen with a white flashing underscore.

    i took my old hard drive out

    Did you switch your bios to boot from cd first? You need to do this for it to see the windows cd. And with XP you shouldn't need a floppy unless you need to load sata drivers.

    ahh we got it thnx tho.. we took the battery out for about 5 minutes... then ran it again and it reset BIOS i guess and asked if i wanted to book froM CD.. its workin now thnx
