The wife's computer went down last week. Prior to going down the monitor image would go diagonal (eg:///). this went on for a couple of days. shut down and do a restart would cure it for about a half hour. Then on day the monitor would not display anything. Check the system"s) to isolate what was offending. Monitor it self was ok. computer was the thing that was not working. took hard drive out of computer and stuck it into an old (older than dirt). and the monitor went (////) . to me that says the HD is the offender. My question is Is the hard drive totally toasted or can there be some way of resurrecting the thing?
