I have just installed a second hard drive as a slave on the primary IDE.
The new drive is 80Gb and the BIOS setup recognizes it as an 82Gb drive but when I format it I only have the option to format it as an 8Gb drive. I am using Windows 98SE.

    Please help

You need to FDISK it for large disk access and that should take care of the problem. Are you sure it says MB and not GB for the size??
