    Howdy,
Does anyone know of any hardware diognostic tools that can check you system hardware for anything wrong? Like check to see that the motherboard is working correctly, that the ram works, etc. I just want to be sure my computer problems are not hardware related.

    Thanks,
    computerpain <:)

Try going to Start/Run and type in "dxdiag" without the "'s.

That should give you a good start.

You could try Sisoft Sandra . Even the freeware version gives you a lot of info about your system.

Sandra is great at evaluating your system, but may want to check some of the more radical recommendations (it can make) here before you try them

    Hi,
I was really looking for software that will tell me if my hardware is working correctly, not list what hardware I have. I noticed two suggestions posted. One was just software the other was software and a pci card. Are they competitive?

    Thanks,
    computerpain

There is another great system analysis utility which works in the same way as SiSoft Sandra and seems to produce as much, if not more, information.

It's called AIDA32 and is free for individual users. Check the website here ; http://www.aida32.hu/aida32.php

The site is in English and Hungarian but I didn't have any problems understanding it sufficiently to d/l the utility.

    ZD.net download "Winstone"
That test will fail your system with the slightest unstableness.
If you system can pass Winstone test, it's probably good and stable.
