So I wanted to ask if there was a way for me to use my video camera that can't stream by default, with a hardware encoder. I'm very new to the subject and want the proper information before making any purchasing decisions.

Hi Gr1mm, and welcome to TSG.

I don't think anyone here can give you proper information until you give us proper information for the manufacturer's name and full model number of your video camera and if you wish to use some type of converter that attaches to a computer or installs inside of your computer. If so, we would need information on the manufacturer's name and full model number of the computer and what operating system is running on it.

The model number for the camera is HDR-PJ260V by Sony, and my computer is custom built by me.

2x ASUS ROG GTX 1080s in SLI, i7-7700k, 1000w silent PSU, ASUS Maximus IX Extreme MOBO, 2x Corsair Vengeance 8GB RAM sticks, Crucial 1 TB HDD & Crucial 1TB SSD, and the water cooling running over the CPU. Windows 10 64-bit is the OS.

And all I want to know, genuinely, is if there is some sort of device either internal or external, preferably external, that can allow this model camera to live-stream. If not, then I'll just purchase a new camera.

Here is something about using a HD PVR2 to turn your camera in to a web cam
