hardware problem

    i have a dell laptop 2008 and use windows vista by accident i unloaded some windows live start up programmes which has affected my cd drive having spoke to a dell tech I have to reset my pc to factory settings and start again, after copying my hard drive as i cannot load to cd can i copy to usb memory stick and if so how I have tried but cant do it!!! please help

    To copy files to a memory key, first plug it in, and it will show up as a drive. Then copy and paste as usual into the new drive.
