The Dell OptiPlex GX620 desktop lists 2 BIOS updates for it:

    Version A10, released 11/01/2006

Fixes: Fixed SMBIOS memory reporting for systems with 2 DIMM slots

    Version A11, released 12/05/2006

Fixes: Not Applicable Enhancements - Improved OROM shadowing into BIOS

    ------------------------------------------------------------

These are the instructions for running the BIOS update utility from within Windows:

    1. Click "Download File" to download the file.

    2. When the File Download window appears, click "Save" to save the file to your hard drive.

    3. After the file is downloaded and saved, close all open windows.

    4. Browse to where you saved the file, then double-click it to start the update process.

    5. Follow the directions from there.

    6. After the update is finished, the system will automatically reboot.

So you didn't update your BIOS version, you just changed the boot order?

I suggest you unplug the computer,
Hold down the power button for 10s,
    Remove the CMOS battery,
Hold down the power button again for 10s,
Check the power supply cables are all fully seated (especially for the processor),
    Put the CMOS battery back,
    Try to boot the system.

What's the "service tag" number and/or "express service code" number on that 2005-era Dell OptiPlex GX620 desktop?
