hardware problem

    Hi I just bought a whole new computer from scratch and when I try installing windows me I keep recieving an saying that there has been a serious error copying files to my hard drive. I have tried my hard drive on another machine and it worked fine.

    my specs are

    ASUS A7N266-VM motherboard
    WesternDigital 40GB hard drive
    Samsung 52x Burner
    256mb of ddr memory
    250watt power supply
    17 inch flat panal moniter

    If you guys could help I would really appreciate it. :D

    opps sorry forgot to add I have a amd Ath XP 2100 on there too

    Hi
    I've had that happen before and it was the CD drive that was bad. If you can you might want to try a different CD drive. Also the CD itself may need to be cleaned.

    Thats quite low by todays standards - this may cause problems.

    As for the problem at hand - there's three general causes:
    1). CD
    2). CD-ROM
    3). RAM

    I finally got Windows ME installed but when ever I try and restart my computer the Hard drive keeps tying to boot up and then restarts.I think it might be my low power supply but if you guys could give me a confirmation that would also help.
