Hardware Requirements for VHS Editing

    I am planning to buy a new computer. My son wants to be able to hook up a camcorder ( not digital) or VCR to the computer and do video editing. I know that special software is required but what kind of hardware do you have to have to plug these things into your computer etc. Someone told me that you had to have a " live video card". I would appreciate your help.

    Your going to need a video capture card.
    Here's a list from pricescan, as you can see the prices go from 50 to 1800 dollars.
