    Hi,

Does anyone have experience with this title?

I just purchased it for my son, and cannot get it to start. I'm running XP home. After the splash screen, the screen just goes to black and the game will not start.

At one point, when running the 3D diagnostics, it says that all the functions may not work because it has detected that I'm using an NT based system. But I'm on XP home, and the game is approved for XP.

    I'm stumped.

    Thanks in advance,
    Dr. Michael

    This is from ea

This is often caused by the video card not meeting the following system requirements:
For software rendering mode: 8 MB video card with DirectX 8.0 compatible driver
3d Accelerated Mode requires: 8MB Direct3D capable video card using the following chipsets with a DirectX 8.0 compatible driver:
NVIDIA GeForce3, NVIDIA GeForce2, NVIDIA GeForce 256, NVIDIA Riva TNT2,
NVIDIA Riva TNT, 3dfx Voodoo5, ATI Radeon, ATI Rage 128 Pro,
    ATI Rage 128, Matrox MGA-G550, Matrox MGA-G450, Matrox MGA-G400,
    Matrox MGA-G200, PowerVR3 Kyro II, PowerVR3 Kyro, or S3 Savage2000.

    To check the video card:
    1) Left Click on the START button in the lower left hand corner of the desktop.
    2) Left Click on RUN
    3) Left Click in the OPEN box and backspace until it is clear.
    4) Type DXDIAG and select OKAY. This will run the DirectX diagnostic tool.
    5) Select the DISPLAY tab at the top of the screen.
    6) This tab will contain video card information, make sure that it meets the above system requirements

The following 16 MB 3D accelerators are not fully supported and may not work properly with the game:

3Dfx Voodoo Banshee cards (some examples below):
    Diamond Monster Fusion
    Megabyte Wicked 3D
    Quantum 3D Raven

    PowerVR NEON 250 cards:
    Video Logic PowerVR Neon 250

    S3 Savage 4 cards:
    Diamond Stealth III S540
    Diamond Stealth III S540 Extreme

    SiS 300 cards

    Rendition Verité 2200 cards

    Hi,

It appears that I'm using a compatable video card:

    NVIDIA RIVA TNT 2

What would you suggest next? None of the FAQ's on the EA website seem to address this problem.

    Thanks,
    Dr. Michael
