Ok i have been tring to find out what this problem is and how to fix it for sum time now.

The problem is with my thinkpad 600E and the neomagic macgicgraph256av. It can not display any image that is not a .bmp it can not play any video that is not .mepg so no dvd's .avi things like that. the odd part the the problem is that when i run a non M$ app like opera for use with the web it can show any image file fine. same with .mepgs will only work in quicktime. If i run linux all the problems are gone this is why I think it is a Driver problem. but Icant get any but the one that comes with xp to install it tells me that the driver installed is the newest. I have tried just about all the windows from 3.11 to xp sp2. Right now I am running xp sp2 with Direct X 9.0c but can not get Direct3d to work but I think thats because of the drivers. If any one has drivers that can fix this please help me

I attached a image to show you the problem opera on the left IE6 on the right both displaying the same web page.
