I have made a couple of animations with Flash, and I've converted it to mp4 because that's what youtube says is the preferred file type. Unfortunately, my first problem is that the conversion does not turn out very good. Does anybody know of a good conversion software so that I can get mp4 in good quality. Flash saves files in types like flv, or mov, or avi, or swf. (off the top of my head)
It also gets a bit blurrier when I upload to youtube itself. I've been on sites that suggest people use a "video encoder". I don't even know what that is, and since I'm using Flash, do I even need to do that? The second thing they suggest is to compress the videos using other software. Again, if my file is under 1 gig, theoretically that is good for youtube, but would it better for my video quality if I compress it before uploading it to Youtube?

Anyway, I wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this, or suggestions.

Thanks

Thanks a lot for the reply. I'm a total noob.
I downloaded some free software online that converts file types. It wasn't a big brand name. So should I get Xvid/Divx programs first? Are "Xvid" and "Divx" actual programs?
