Most often, although it is intermitent, I have to click twice to get the cursor to drag a scroll bar or activate a button. This is a new problem and is an issue when surfing the web and in Windows Live Mail and other programs.

I will appreciate any help you can offer.:)

Hi Jerry

Are you referring to a laptop touchpad or a conventional mouse?
If the latter, try a different mouse. Your current one may simply be faulty.

If the former, try re-installing the touchpad driver from the laptop maker's website.

Thanks for the reply. It is the same problem with the mouse and the touchpad. That is why I thought it might be somehow a Windows glitch. It has been a problem long enough I don't think I can restore back far enough to correct it. It seems like my restore points only go back about a month or less.
