My computer came with 80gb hard drive (C) with recovery partition (D).
I removed the floppy and used the slot to install a 160gb Maxtor and set it strictly for storage.
My DVD and CD were recognized as E and F and the Maxtor as G.
After doing a destructive recovery by tapping the F10 key :
    Maxtor is now DR2 Vol 1 (D)
Recovery partition is now Presario RP (E)
DVD and CD now F and G
My concern is that if I ever need to do another recovery, will it work? I think I can rename them but would that work?
I hope I have done this correctly and have given the needed information. I would appreciate any advice and help on this. If more information is needed, please ask. Thanks, Q-tip

Use the Disk Management Utility to re-assign drive letters :)
    see here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307844

Change the CD/DVD drive that is currently G to H, this frees up G for use
Change the 160GB Maxtor that is currently D to G, this is as per your preference
Change Recovery Partition that is currently E to D
Change the CD and DVD drives to E and F
there you go , everything as it was beforehand

Thanks for the link. I changed drive letters in the order that I wanted and everything seems to be working and in order. Thanks again, Q-tip
