hd not found in boot menu

    'hi guys..a newbie here!! One of my office pc's is driving me nuts.Nine times out of 10 when stating it up it doesn't find the hard drive and so wont boot.On the tenth time it boots perfectly and everything works ok.Its an Acer Veriton m464 running vista business oem...Is this a hd or a bios problem.?. all help gratefully received!

    It could be either OR it could be something pretty simple like a loose data cable or pw connector. First reseat both the pw and data connectors on the drive. If that fixes it great; if not, then attempt to test the hd with the drive maker's diagnostic. You download this from whomever made the drive ie WD, Seagate, etc.
