I have a DELL 4100 that needs a new HD. The original one is:

Can I replace with this one?

If not, can you direct me to a one that would work. This is an old PC that is going to my young cousin, so she doesn't need anything fancy or with a lot of storage space. I just wnat to get the PC working for her to use until she needs a better one in the future.

THanks.

Good point about the drive space. I'll have to check the new HD's dimensions. I am assuming that the screws will be located inthe same place?.
Yes, I am removing the old HD. The PC wouldn't boot up and the HD would spin with a sound like someone hitting it with a ballpeen hammer.

Harddrives dimensions are 3.5". If you are removing the original then you shouldn't have a space problem. I was thinking about being Dell they usually don't have extra harddrive bays. And yes, you can use the screws from the old drive. I should also mention, that drives inside a branded computer sometimes, have adapters attached, if this is the case, all you would need to do is attach the adapters to the new drive.
