Bought a portable enclosed harddrive from China a long time ago for Xbox 360. After my console died, I took the drive out of the enclosure.

And I noticed something weird about the harddrive.

The drive is labeled wd1200bevt, and I searched the image of the actual drive and it looks exactly the same as mine, with the same hole and screw locations and everything.

But when I plugged in into my computer, it is identified as FUJITSU MHW2120BH, and I couldn't understand why.

Fujitsu never sold their drive division to WD so WD shouldn't have their stocks.

Can you actually edit the device name of a harddrive in order to fool the system? Xbox 360 wasn't picky about what harddrive you could use in it, so there's no reason to edit the device ID.

Out of fear that this harddrive is running Chinese bugged firmware, I want to flash it to proper versions, but I can't find any tools for flashing the drive. What should I do?
