Hello! I have searched the Internet and no luck, maybe i get luck from here..

Anyways, i just recently did an clean Windows 10 install for my Lenovo laptop and after that my HDD started making powering noise when screen goes black (goes on screensaver). Exact noise when my laptop powers up. When idleing and screensaver goes on, it starts like booting or powering up in sequence but also when only on battery, when charging then it does not make that noise. When i move cursor then the noise stops. Also connected the HDD to my other laptop with Icybox and then it did not make that sound. Worked just like an normal and new HDD. HDD is 13 months old and Seagate momentus.

Before Windows 10 install, it never did that sound.

    Big thanks for your help.

Sounds like a process is running when the system is idle. Likely a config option of some sort within Windows (such as indexing) or a 3rd party software which you have installed.
