My computer has two hdmi ports one on the motherboard and one on the graphics card. only the port on the graphics cards is working. i have tried it with multiple cables and different screens and still no luck. i am trying to set up two monitors and i am looking to see if i need to change any setting or anything that will allow me to use both ports.

Most motherboards disable onboard video chipset when a standalone video card is used. Thus there is nothing actually wrong. It is working as designed.

If you want/need multiple monitors, you need a video card that contains the number and type of ports that you need for your monitors.
