Hi. I was just curious. I have a hdmi port on my pc and one on the back of my monitor. Is this to connect the pc to the monitor for better screen resolution on my monitor or are the ports meant for something else? I already have the monitor connected to the hard drive but was wondering if connecting the 2 with an hdmi cable would make a differance.
That's impossible as your HDD is what your OS is installed on. You can only connect your monitor to your PC to the mobo or the GPU.
HDMI is only needed if your monitor has speakers as the HDMI cable carries sound. Although HDMI supports 1080p and higher resolution but that would depend on your viewing device.
if you could post some screen shots (pictures) of your PC (the back where all the cables are) and the ports on your monitor we can better advise you.
