I am going to be purchasing an HDTV. Can I use it as a computer monitor? And, is there any significant degradation in picture quality on a 46" screen?

Not as long as you're far enough away! :D

Remember, the pixel size will obviously be a lot larger. I connected my laptop to my 50" plasma screen 1366x720, and it looked fine as long as you were not real close. Movies looked great! :D

You'll want to use HDMI if possible...
