My front headphone jack is not working. I've tried everything I know to fix it--no luck.

did you make sure the front headphones jack is plugged into the motherboard's header? Maybe it came loose?

TY, I'm not sure about that; but the sound plays via speakers and when I plug in the headphones the speakers stop but no audio on the phones. There's nothing wrong with the phones--I've checked them on another device.

Double check in the sound properties icon that it has switched over to the headphones.

Are you using the headphone jack on the front of the computer case or the one on the back of the tower, coming directly off the motherboard?

I'm trying to use the front jack. When I use the rear jack where my speakers usually plug in, the phones work fine

Ah ok. That's what I needed to know. Its probably a bad audio header card. The ports on the FRONT of the computer is actually a little kind of card that plugs into a port on the actual motherboard. They do go bad every now and then. Since it works fine plugged into the ports on the back , which are directly on the motherboard you know its not a driver issue or audio equipment issue.

It's not that hard, tbh. If you buy a new card and swap it out you can see if that resolves the issue.

Actually, I'm still under a warranty; I'll check with Lenovo support.

Oh, if you're still under a warranty, then ya, you shouldn't have any issues with getting it fixed. I would mark this thread solved.
