    Anyway,

My heat sink makes a grinding noise in the morning? After I hit the side of the case it quiets down and returns to it's normal sound? (Low blowing, but still keeping my CPU temp low).

Also, at random times it makes a whirling noise then goes?

I have opened my case in the past, and cleaned out the heat sink with a brush and it still doesn't make a real difference.

    This is odd?

    My CPU/ZIF is a E6600 Intel @ 2.4Ghz processor.

Secondly, the heatsink is a 775 intel default.

Yeah, sounds like it's on it's last leg and you don't want that thing repeatedly going into thermal shutdown, and that's even if you have that protection on your board.
