Have you tried restoring to a day before this started to happen? With an 80 GB drive it probably is not low on disk space. Have you recently installed any new programs or hardware? Is the problem with all program? If only a few you may want to re-install them.

You have 2 AV's running. Norton and Zonealarm. Wait for someone more savvy than I am to answer your original question, but I did notice the 2 programs running. Also, is HJT running in a temporary folder?

LG DVD-rom
HP DVD+rw
LG CDRW 48x24x48
Maxtor 80 GB

Your signature shows 3 CD and DVD entries. If one is on the same ribbon as the drive could it be slowing the drive enough to cause the problems? What is the name of the program(s) that give you the most problem?
