Firstpost and I hope I hope not to become well knownin this section of the forum for obvious reasons. But I must at last break my silenceas this lme duckis feeling, wel, lame actually.

Ok scenario so far. It all starte with me clicking on an unsafe website (doesn't it always)and now I've beenhijacked and probably worse.

Hard drive (and PC) started making constantly busy noises so I opened up task manager and noted a couple of unrecognsed processes which I put a stop to. I then noticed that my 1GB of RAM (physical memory) was constantly working at about 75% an the processor was fluctuating anywhere between 30 & 60% capacity with only proceses running. No programs except task manager obviously.

I downloaded AVG Free and found 4 trojans which I binned, 1 was xsifquw.exe. This didn't solve things so I downloaded Adaware 2007 Free. Did a scan and found some run of the mill stuff but got rid anyway. Problem still there.

So I've now downloaded hijackthis. I have used this before (quite while ago on a different PC) and solved the problems with out tech asstanc as I am quite confident with all of this stuff. However I can't do it this time as the following occurs:-

1/ Upon loading up HiJackThs I get an error message. See attachd JPEG
2/ My HiJackThis report as follows-

In blue were 2 that struck me as suspicious
In red Zango some stupid toolbar I was once foolish enough to download. I quite quickly uninstalled said garbage. Hence files missing comment.

So I took it upon me to try a remove blue and re nes and goy a message about the host write protection thing as per the jpeg. I can reproduce this if necessary but not right now as I am advised to close internet so must post first asI've already started.

As well asmy overloaded system problem I have others.

First there is the new windows (or additional tabs) opening up in internet explorer . I don't even have to have explorer open it can open on its own (yes I have always on WiFi broadband). Thougwith explorer open already pop up aremore frequent very often the pop up connects to http:\\89.188.16.57\..... (or a different number) before trying to divert to (insert **** website name here)

2/ My mouse cursor yesterday was going haywire it moves (more like teleports) to the top of the screen and I can only move left/right not down, tn it switches to bottom of screen. Admittedly I havealways had thisproblem intermittey since I installed ****** Vista. But the problem was much worse yesterday was tabbing everything. This seems to have cleared up somewhat today. Driver problem? Don't know.

3/ Whilst mouse is better it is today the turn of my other I/O device, yes the keyboard, to be a misbehaving bar steward. Typing this post has been a nightmare!! Keystrokes randomly not being processed. Spaces, 1, 2, & 3+ letters at a time not showing up on screen. With my anally, self imposed, strict code of conduct with regards to what makes good reading has made this post painful indeed.

I hope someone can help this lame duck please. I live in hope!! Thanks, Alan
