The other night I got hit with begin2search crap.

It was so bad that I couldn't even restart my computer...had to go into safemode.

I got rid of most of the junk, but I can't figure out how to get rid of the begin2search stuff and the google and tv stuff.

    Your help is greatly appreciated!!!!

You may want to print out these instructions or save them to your desktop because we will be restarting into Safe Mode later on in the fix and you might not be able to access the Internet.

Please close all browsers and windows and have HijackThis fix these entries:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchURL = http://www.begin2search.com/googlesidesearch.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.begin2search.com/googlesidesearch.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.begin2search.com/googlesidesearch.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.begin2search.com/googlesidesearch.html
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.begin2search.com/googlesidesearch.html
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {20EC3D2D-33C1-4C9D-BC37-C2D500688DA2} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\TV MEDIA\TVMBHO.DLL
    O2 - BHO: ohb - {4D568F0F-8AC9-40AB-88B7-415134C78777} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\WINB2S32.DLL
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [bxxs5] RunDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\BXXS5.DLL,DllRun
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [stcloader] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\stcloader.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Internet Optimizer] "C:\Program Files\Internet Optimizer\optimize.exe"
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TV Media] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\TV MEDIA\Tvm.exe
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [TV Media] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\TV MEDIA\Tvm.exe

Reconfigure Windows XP to show hidden files:
    Click Start. Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options. Select the View Tab.

Under the Hidden files and folders heading select "Show hidden files and folders".
Uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" option.
Uncheck the "Hide file extensions for known file types" option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.

    Boot into Safe Mode:
Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.
To get back to normal mode just restart the computer as you normally would.

Please remove these entries from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel(if present):

    Internet Optimizer
    TV Media

Please delete these folders using Windows Explorer(if present):

    C:\Program Files\Internet Optimizer
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\TV MEDIA

Please delete these files using Windows Explorer(if present):

    C:\WINDOWS\BXXS5.DLL
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\stcloader.exe

Now you can restart the computer normally.
Please run HijackThis again and post a fresh log, just so I can make sure that all the malware was deleted according to plan. :)

Please include everything with your new log, including running process and the header information. They are all vital in the decision of what to fix.
