does closing cmd end the command being ran?
does closing the cmd as in pressing the x on the corner, kill the command being ran in the window?

example i had a del /f/s/q filepath running deleting a bunch of files
i wanted to close it and stop the deletion
i just closed the cmd window

did that terminate the deletion of files or is it still running in the background?
how can i view what cmd is doing if i closed the window?
    please help me

i am very paranoid i shut down the computer and all.

Hi, [IMG] and welcome to techguy.

I'm pretty sure it would not carry on running but to be sure why not check your running processes in task manager ?

alright thanks and thanks for responding I posted this on about 4 other forums because I'm scared if it kept running.

after turning it back on cmd.exe is not running anymore

thanks, somebody else mentioned that it may or may not terminate it due to phantom mode?
