I use windows 8.1 on my desktop. Recently, whenever I am typing something in Microsoft Word, it suddenly stops responding, and automatically scrolls very quickly up to the top of the document, and will not allow me to continue typing, or to make any changes to the document or even scroll back down to where I was typing.

At the same time, whilst I have my internet browser open, it does the same thing, and automatically scrolls very quickly up to the top of the webpage, and will not allow me to do anything, or to or even scroll back down to where I was reading.

When I manage to get to the desktop, the "My computer" icon is highlighted on my desktop, and it does not matter if I attempt to click on any other icons, it just automatically opens the "My computer" in which the top row of "desktop, documents, downloads, music, pictures, video" folder are all automatically highlighted.

The only thing I can do is restart my computer manually on the computer-tower button itself and restart the computer.

Then after restarting the computer, after typing in my word document again, or typing on the internet, 5 minutes later it does this again.

My computer should not have any virus, I have Trend Micro Titanium installed - which works well, and prevents viruses, spyware and malware.

I also did an online scan with ESET smart security and it found no viruses, but did not fix the problem.

I did a system restore - back to 3 months previously - when the problem did not exist, and even though I restored the computer back 3 months in time, the problem still occurred.

Then, I then did a "system refresh" in which the computer re-installs Windows 8.1 onto my computer - only keeping my personal files. - But the problems persists.

Has anyone experienced this kind of problem before, and how do I fix it??

Did you do a refresh or a reinstall to factory specs? It actually sounds more like a hardware problem than a Software problem.

So as to enable us to determine the basics of your system could you please download and run the TSG SysInfo tool and then C&P the info into your next Post.
