Hi,

I am confused with ip's etc. I have a Linksys WRT54G router that has usemynet software that allows my customers to enter a ticket number and use the internet at my cafe.

This router goes into the modem/router with my isp. They had to set it up for me because usemynet disallows 10.0.0.1 ip and this is what they redirect to... long story. It works.

Anyway I just added a HP Laserjet 4 with jetdirect ethernet into the router/modem. I setup two wireless computers and they connect to the printer at 10.0.0.5 no problem. Both of these computers are logged into the isp modem/router via wireless.

Now if i log into the wifi Linksys with usemynet software, enter a ticket number, i can connect to the internet but now i cannot ping the printer.

The linksys router is set at:

subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 10.0.0.1

isp modem/router

subnet 255.0.0.0.
gateway 10.0.0.11

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I'm confused, what is the exact make/model of the modem?

Let's see this from one of the working computers and this non-working computer.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt:

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands, one at a time, followed by the Enter key:

Note that there is a space before the -n or the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the - or / in the following commands.

NBTSTAT -n

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter to copy the contents to the clipboard.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Hi,

Yes that is correct. No sense going to the other machine to get it.

The first set is connected directly to the wireless isp's modem/router, while the second set is connected to the Linksys wifi router using usemynet wifi ticketing software.

Also in the middle of the night i was thinking about it and found the cause. But I have no solution.

The usemynet wifi software on the Linksys router blocks the connect. Here is what usemynet says: We block connections from wireless to 192.168.*.* 10.*.*.* and 172.16.*.*

So how can i make the printer also accessible on the wifi router if those ip's are blocked?

Thanks

HUH? I want to see the IPCONFIG /ALL from each machine, not a copy of it twice from one machine!

That's probably no longer necessary now that you have identified the cause. I'm not familiar with that software package, it may simply not allow the option you're seeking.
