hi currently i have ****** vista and am considering ubuntu. I have a new compaq laptop with an amd turion 64x, and nividia graphics card.. Now i've been told that if run xp on a vista machine some of your drivers may not work like graphics and wireless. Is this true? and will they not work with either? Can i download the correct drivers? Please help me out, fairly familiar with computers but have alot to learn. thanx

Do you want to use Ubuntu or Windows XP? People on a Windows XP or Vista forum might know more about XP on a Vista Machine than people on a Linux Forum. Do you have a Linux question? You can "try" Ubuntu by using a Desktop Disk (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download). This is a LiveCD which will boot entirely from the CDRom and leave your hard drive absolutely untouched. It might have helped if you had given the model of your Compaq laptop.
