I need some thoughts on whats the best way to go to get A+ certified. Should I just study on my own, and what is the best A+ book to study? Or should I take one of those online courses that cost a bijillion dollars to take? What have some of you done?

Study, study, study....I cannot emphasize that enough!
There are many books about the A+ cert...most you can check out from your local library. Do not over look the little details like voltages...It could be on the test! As far as classes go, I'm not up to speed with them.
    good luck!

I'd love to have the A+ myself. The jobs that are available if you have it are out of this world.

Not really. At least not in these parts. A+ gets you about 10-12$ / hour. Unless of course you are working for yourself.

The A+ cert test isn't that difficult if you have a decent knowledge of computers. Its also a certification that looks good but won't get you any more money. MSCE, Cisco, Novell (in that order) are the ones to go for if you want truely valuable certifications, that will get you the nice bump in your pay grade.

But yeah best bet, grab a book from the library/bookstore and just study.
