first of all, list your computer specs (your OS etc.)

    retrieve your computer specs by:
    click start
    click run
    type in dxdiag
    hit enter

and what are you trying to download through? like just a download through some websites or through p2p like limewire, bit torrent, or kazaa?

    Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

Post a log for us and we can attempt to clean this up for you.

    Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Sorry dude..I think you fall in that category of not enough and too much. For the price, go ahead and get a newer cpu system and let go of the old stuff. Life in computers moves in leaps and bounds and I don't think a HiJack this analysis will tell you anything you or we already know. Give up a few bucks and upgrade..it is really the best way and what was $1,000 last year is $399.00 this year. So don't make a turtle run a marathon. Break down and spend a few bucks and forget the hassles.

...you are fairly new here... ...but this is not an excuse to threat anyone in a cavalier way... ...if cybertech (who happens to be a moderator) is willing to help, it is because something can be done... other than getting a new rig...

First of all im a woman not a dude.i am also a single mom of 3 kids working fulltime and going to college, to better our future.i dont have the option to "breakdown"and buy a new computer. the money that would cost is money id rather spend on my kids for things they need.i deal with what i have and make the best of it.HIGHJACK THIS may not work, but everything is worth a try, and the person who sent me that thread , well atleast they are trying to help. So next time you want to leave a rude thread, maybe you should use your brain a little, because this site is about help, not leaving rude threads. P.S. thank you SHAMOU for commenting about how rude that was.

Run HJT again and put a check in the following:

    O15 - Trusted Zone: *.yahoomessenger
    O16 - DPF: {A0EAC162-A012-4AD8-B2E1-D5A0BBBCDA51} (PopupSh Control) - http://209.190.5.106/display/PopupSh.ocx

Close all applications and browser windows before you click "fix checked".

    Run ActiveScan online virus scan:
    http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location.
Post the contents of the ActiveScan report back to this thread.
