Recently my computer started freezing when I go into certain websites. Facebook is definitely one of them. As soon as I type the addy in it freezes and I have to manually power it down. Other websites does this too. I am running Windows 7 and it's an HP Pavilion dv4. Any suggestions?

What browser are you using? Tried running it without add-ons?

OK tried turning off add ons. Still froze when I tried to go to Facebook. Do you have another suggestion? I was thinking maybe the registry might be messed up.

Your computer freezes, but does it give you any error message as well?

No. It just freezes and I have to manually shut it down.

    Open Internet Explorer.

    Click Tools.

    Select Compatibility View Settings.

Are there any websites in the big box?

If the "Display all websites in Compatibility View" box is selected, deselect it. You can deselect the other boxes as well, for that matter.
