Help --- Host file problem

    Win Patrol keeps identifing a host file

    c:/windows\system32\drivers\etc\host
    as a free download from http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/

    Looked it up in google looks like it is full of viruses how do I stop this from trying to load?

    Hosts files can not carry viruses. Chances are that someone downloaded a free hosts file that contains addresses that block ads from coming through while you are surfing the net.

    If you want, you can open the file and remove the entries, but you may want to keep it.
