Hello,

I know this isn't really PC related but I reckon that you tech guys'll be able to help me out, so here it goes.

I am planning on buying a television, and sometime in the foreseeable future a next generation console, now what with all this talk about "High Definition" I would like to get to the best possible experience, so...

1) When consulting a clerk about a TV that is tempting me what questions should I ask and what answers do I need, to get the best performance

2) I've heard talk of being able to buy a large computer monitor as these operate above and beyond the HD resolution, if I was to get one of these what sort of connection should I look out for on it and again what questions should I ask.

I'm not sure whether to get the Xbox 360 or the PS3 so solutions that apply to both are preffered.

I decided to go DLP and got a beauty and gaming on it is fun. I really think its a matter of prefference though. I don't see the "rainbowing" that some people talk about with DLP. However I do have a fear of plasma burn-in after reading a ton of reviews and knowing all our major channels here have the affeixed "logos".

I have a 53" widescreen Panasonic HDTV and I love it. It's awesome for games. It's a bit of a pain moving it around, but the picture goodness more than makes up for it. Just make sure you get an extended on-site warranty with it. You won't regret it, I promise. When I moved into this house the picture went out of whack. They sent a guy over free of charge to readjust the TV. Oy.
