I guess my original thread on this died, so I'm starting a new one. I have two programs on my computer that I can't get rid of. One is called AdStatus and the other is AdMan. They keep trying to change my start menu, but AdAware blocks them. I want to delete these programs, but I can't find them. If I run Hijack This (see log below) it finds them, but it doesn't fix them. The paths that Hijack This shows do not come up when I look for them in Explorer, so I can't manually delete them. (Yes, I do have Show Hidden Files selected.) The programs do not appear in Add/Remove programs either. Eventhough they are being blocked, I am not comfortable with their being there. I think that this might be a fairly new hijacker program. Any ideas on how to remove them?

Go here to get AD-Aware SE . Ad-Aware 6 is not supported any more . If you download Spybot Search and Destroy as well and use them both weekly

Get Spyware Blaster and update weekly as well .

DustSailor: Thank you for alerting me to the fact that my AdAware program was out of date. I thought that I had the latest. In fact, they had sold me SE but had sent me AdAware 6! Any way, all has been solved (I think) as you will see in this thread:http://forums.techguy.org/t324808.html . Again, thanks for your help. (y)
