Hi,
I've tried to find a more suitable forum to post this in, so if a moderator/admin decides to move it, thanks in advance.
To turn my hobby into a business, I need to buy a laptop as cheaply as possible but capable of a certain amount of processing. So this machine must be able to simultaneously run:
Mixxx (Shoutcast broadcaster)
Skype
Virtual Audio Cables
Maybe a few browser tabs
Any suggestions?
About a year ago I switched to a Ubuntu-based distro only to find that I can't get Skype and my broadcaster to play ball, thus this expenditure. Windows is sucking me back into its evil grasp. I'm putting this extra note here because I really don't want to use Windows EVER again and I'm hoping maybe someone out there just might have a solution for me that doesn't involve Jack Audio. Back on Windows I could have Skype output into a virtual device that would input into Mixxx and a virtual device Mixxx would output to both my headphones and Skype's input... albeit with an occasional clipping problem.
There's no such thing as having everything, is there?
