im not very good with hijack this logs but have you tried changing it via internet explorer? and then reboot and see if it changes back?

just go to tools>internet options as well if its avant browser go into the avant properties and adjust the homepage.

    I don't think the about:blank is a browser hijack.

    edit:
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank

    just a thot?

I tried that already, then after that, I ran Ad-aware, and got rid of 5 bits of spyware, then I cleared out all of the "R1" logs on Hijack.
    spybot found nothing.

so everything appears clean, but then.. when I open my browser, it reads
"about: blank" but it's showing me some wierd homepage with a search engine.......????

The very act of opening my browser re-installs everything I just cleaned!!!!

    this is tricky.....
I'll clear out the Hi-jack log, and then rescan directly after....
and everything I just deleted re-appears again!!!
so I cannot post a clean Hijack-log if it prevents me from cleaning it.

there is something in there that is re-installing everything, including whatever I wipe out of Ad-aware.

I'll try a virus scan now......

    nope....no virus.
I need someone who really knows Hijack logs to figure this out.

If there is anything strange in this log.....tell me!
