Before sending a Hijack log, you might as well download, update and use a good Spyware and Trojan Removal program.

Spybot Search and Destroy:
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=spybotsda

SpySweeper:
http://www.webroot.com/wb/products/spysweeper/index.php
This will also protect your home page from being hijacked.

Ad-Aware:
http://www.lavasoft.de/

With any of the above three programs, just like with Anti-Virus software, should have the latest updates installed before doing a scan.

CWShredder:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/CWShredder.exe

KazaaBeGone
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/kazaabegone.zip

Programs that can help prevent getting infected:

Spyware Blaster
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

Spyware Guard

That's a startup list. We need to see the default HJT scan log. When you open HJT in the first window click the "Scan" button there. When the scan is finished the scan button will become "Save Log" click that and save the log.

Go to where you saved the log and click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" then Paste the log back here in a reply.

Did you update the certificate for the slowdown with Norton?
https://getca.verisign.com/update.html

Not sure it it will help but maybe worth a try.

There also have been a lot of posts around with System Works causing problems. If you have the CD and don't mind the troubleshooting time, you might uninstall it .
