    Hello everybody,

my fiancee's laptop, runing XPPro SP3, recently started refusing entry.

She has always password protected her computers, and changes the password whenever one expires.

The last time she reset the password, everything was fine...for a few days. Then the laptop refused to recognize the password.

We've tried logging in as the Admin, but apparently there's a password that she's forgotten because even if we leave the window blank it doesn't work.

I tried starting in Safe Mode w/ prompt, to use command-line to wipe passwords, but even in Safe Mode the OS starts on the Admin account and demands a password (which I thought Windows wouldn't do--in Safe Mode, nobody needs a password?)

We don't have the WinXP CD so we can't try a Repair Installation. I've tried rolling back the OS to the last backup, to no avail.

This is a major disruption for her--all her MBA class work and financial files are on it!

    Please help.

    DjB
