    Hi brndthm,

    Let's see the following.

    TSG Information Utility
    • Download and save the TSG System Information Utility (SysInfo.exe).
    • After it's been downloaded and saved, double-click it to run it.
    • Information about your computer will appear.
    • Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the entire text here.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

    MsConfig
    • Press and hold the Windows button + R on your keyboard.
    • In the Run box, type MSCONFIG and hit Enter.
    • Click the "Startup" tab.
    • Write down only the names in the "Startup Item" column that have a checkmark next to them.
    • If the "Startup Item" column isn't wide enough to see the entire name of any of them, widen the column.
    • Submit those names here in a vertical list.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Lastly, is there a reason you haven't upgraded to Windows 8.1?

When shutting down do you REALL shut down or is the machine going into "Suspend", "Sleep" or any of ther such term?

Most new machines are set to go into this "Suspended" made in lew of a real shut down. When there are a lot of programs (apps) open it can take some time to wake up.

Make sure that you are really shutting down.

You have decent hardware in your system so it shouldn't be that slow.

Are you sure that's the complete MSCONFIG list? Please make sure by scrolling down to see if there are any additional entries.

As for Windows 8.1 (and its subsequent updates) we will work on that after we take care of some things within MSCONFIG. :)

From your message above seems like you already have windows 8.1. Run Task Manager and check startup programs, and also, as said before, check your services in Msconfig (Run>Msconfig). look for non-microsoft services.

This is true. My eyes completely skipped over that parts of the TSG Utility log.

brndthm, I would still like to revisit that topic to make sure you have all Windows updates installed though.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

    Understood, thanks. :)

Based on that it doesn't sounds like you have many items launching at startup and so that shouldn't contribute to your computer's slowness.

Have you tried restarting? Does the slowness start right after you enter Windows?

the slowness starts as soon as I turn on my PC. I don't put it to sleep I turn it off and as soon as I turn it on it takes about 3-4 minutes before I can sign in. I just wondered if anything was wrong.
I do appreciate all your help can you tell me what CMD is please !

CMD is an abbreviation for Command Prompt. It is a command line tool in Windows where you input text commands instead of clicking on a graphical interface. (Click here to learn more about it).

To launch it hold down the Windows button on your keyboard and press R. This will produce a Run box (separate from CMD). In the Run box type cmd and hit Enter.

Once Command Prompt has launch do the following:
    • Type tasklist and hit Enter.
    • Right-click anywhere in the Command Prompt and choose Select All.
    • Then press Enter on the keyboard.
    • Then return to this thread, right click anywhere in the reply box and choose Paste.

The resulting list shows all of the current processes on your computer and some information about them. What we're interested in is the amount of memory usage.

    Hi brndthm,

Thanks for that log. I see a lot of processes running, but let's see if they're taking up all of your available resources.

    Task Manager - Resource Usage
    • Right-click the Taskbar and choose Start Task Manager.
    • Click the Performance tab and let your computer run for a few minutes as you normally would.
    • Take a screenshot of this windows and include it in your next reply.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Also, is your computer as slow while in Safe Mode?

    Safe Mode With Networking
    • While the computer is turning on, tap F8 repeatedly until a black screen with white text appears.
    • Using your arrow keys highlight the option Safe Mode With Networking and hit Enter.
Note: If you are using Windows 8/8.1, following the directions here.
