hi ive had this problem for ages now and still haven't got it sorted can i have some help please.

    My Problem
when i bought my pc ready built it was ace. i was able to play all the latest games with no problems for about 12 months then the weather got hot i started to get random shutdowns when ever i played games.

i thought that maybe i had a few viruses so instead of using a virus scanner i just did a complete format. this did the trick for about 2 months then all of a sudden my problem started to happen again this time i scanned with kaspersky antivirus which came back clean.

i tired all sorts to try and stop my problem but to no avail i checked my memory and found out that one of my 512ddr400 sticks was bad so i replaced it with a 1gb stick but this didnt do anything to help my problem then i checked my graphics card to see if this could be the cause but that came back ok (ive even took it out of my pc and am now using my onboard graphics adapter) but still i have this rebooting problem.

i have formatted a few times just incase theres a dodgy file on my formatted this hasnt changed anything.

i have noticed that when it shuts down and restarts the cpu temp is around 64oC and the system temp is about 45oC i have got two case fans that work ok and a big heat sink fan on my processor which seems to be ok.

my problems were only happening when playing hi-spec games but now they happen when i am playing partypoker/casino games during the rebuy process. i have even got rid of party poker games and also when i try to play media (stuff like movies or music) media player shuts itself down and tells me there has been a problem and media player needs to shut down.

i just for the life of me cannot seem to figure out the solution to my problems.

if you can help or have had this problem in the past and sorted it out please help me cause i wanna be able to play my games again.

    thanks guys

sounds like temp 65C is high
have you tried cleaning all the fans and the CPU fan - if its all clogged up with dirt that will have an effect

you could try opening the side and getting a normal house fan and blow that into the case in the same directions as the case fans blow and see if the problem stops

you may have to take the CPU fan off and clean of any thermal paste or remove the thermal pad - replace the thermal grease and the fan
