I have looked all over the net for a driver for my Toshiba CD/DVD-RW drive (SD-R2412) and am simply not finding anything.

At some point this weekend my machine (2GIG, XP home, 512 RAM) stopped seeing and writing disks. I even tried a restore to no avail. Device MGR shows that the device is working properly. It doesn't work in safe mode or with all the startups taken out.

So I think it's a driver issue, but I can't find the right driver...

Any help would be awesome!
Thanks in advance.

Bad drivers SHOULD show up in Device Manager. Have you checked cable plugs, etc? Try Toshiba's support site and search for drivers for your hardware by model number.

Well for now it looks like I fixed the problem by reinstalling AOL 9 (I know, I know, I wouldn't use it but I get it for free being that I worked there for 6 years, so....) I don't know why this would have happend due to AOL but reinstalling it seemed to have done the trick... We'll see though... I'll post back if problems contune.

Thanks for the tip about driver problems in Device MGR I didn't know that.

I probably should have said "show up THRU Device mgr". If you right click an item in device mgr, then click properties, you'll get to a Driver Tab.
