Hi and welcome to TSG.

Assuming your value is in A1 then this should work

=TEXT(A1,"0\,00\,00\,000")

If all you are interested in is the way it is displayed, used a custom format on the cell ( something like : 99,99,99,999

Hi Jegan,

I don't like either of the earlier replies.

I'd suggest you format the cell as Number / Custom and then key in the following exactly:

[>=10000000]##\,##\,##\,##0.00;[>=100000]##\,##\,##0.00;##,##0.00

Ask Lakshmi to favour me please, he he.

lol

Now that I've stopped crying :D ...

Hew I was interested in your format solution. I tried but when you type in 10000000 (ten million) it comes out as 100,00,000.00.

Hi Glaswegian,

Don't cry, I just didn't like having to have a new column, any your text gave zeros and , s regardless of snmallness of number.

The display format being requested was I believe for Indian numbers.

1 lakh = 100 thousand.
100 lakh = 1 crore

For 10,000,000 you should have seen 1,00,00,000 The same no of noughts but with the commas different.

Cheers
Hew
