I recently turned my computer on to burn some music onto a disc but i looked in my computer and both my cd drivers have gone and i can't reset my computer without them because i need the disc drive to read the disc if you can tell me one of two of these things
    1) how to uninstall windows xp pro without the disc
    2) how to get lost cd drivers back

have a look in the bios and device manager and see if they are seen
    start>
    control panel>
    system>
    hardware tab>
    device manager button>
    -----------------------------------------
as switch on the PC you should get a message to hit DEL or F2 to get into bios or setup
have a look and see if the CD is recognised there

Have you uninstalled any software recently? Have you opened case and tried reseating the cables for drives? Try a different ide cable?

During the Windows XP installation? If so that almost always indicates a problem reading the CD.
