help needed with xp home startup floppys

    hi i need help with extracting xp home floppys , what i mean is i down loaded the file from windows to make 6 startup floppys but when i go to extract them a ms-dos(16 bit ms-dos subsystem) window comes up the file starts to extract but then a small window comes up and says the sys file is not suitable for runnning ms-dos and microsoft windows applications choose close to terminate this is supposed to be a self extracting file and i really need theese disks to try and do a repair as i am missing a system 32\hal.dll any help would be great or somewhere else i could get this file
